Tiram Laksa @ Ulu Tiram

Alright, today we are not going to talk about the food but a boring story about one of our writer’s primary school which is…

SJK (C) Ulu Tiram!

lol just kidding it is not about the school, the highlight is the laksa stall where located opposite to the primary school, the famous Tiram Laksa!

As we all know, it is no doubt that a born-and-grown person would tend to appreciate the originality of  the certain place. It is the same applying to our writer as well.

According to our writer’s father, he stated that this stall has been existing since he was young like 10 years old! *gasps*

The taukeh here has some rare determination which is hardly found in the current urban people now. This stall is also their house so it is very convenient for them to do the business daily.

At the early stage, the taukeh sold his Hainanese laksa by riding the old school tricycle travelling along the tiram streets. They are still even using the tricycle now as their laksa curry pot holder but not moving it anymore and made it stay in the old place permanently.

At first, they were known for selling the laksa started from midnight 12AM. As time goes by, due to the reason that people care about their healthy eating culture, the seller changed the operating hour to 5PM.

The main ingredients are bean sprouts, fried fishballs, sliced fishcakes, quail eggs, tofu, fried wanton, fried tofu skin roll, and.. and of course the lye-water yellow noodles.

Here is a photo of the attractive look of the Tiram Laksa.

The taukeh kept his laksa curry mild so that old folks and children could have it without wasting excessive tissues, and also for people who has spices-phobia like me hehe. How caring the taukeh is!

The small yet fresh see ham (blood cockles)

Aww my favourite fried wanton! It tastes soft outside yet sooo crispy inside! *screams*

The amazing homemade sambal paste! It is indeed like a soul-mate matched with the laksa!

The laksa broth was so nice that I usually didn’t have it along with the sambal paste. It is absolutely not because of my spices phobia-ness. :)))

Each bowl of the curry laksa costs at RM4.50 and it is definitely worth it a try!

If you are seeking for an old school laksa, it’s no doubting your first choice would be here. So what are you waiting for? Just get up your ass and get it now!
